Quincy University issued the following announcement on Aug. 16
The Quincy University softball program has announced the dates for their upcoming fall instructional camps beginning this September.
QU softball will hold a Youth Skills Camp, an Introduction to Pitching Camp, an Elite Camp, and an Advanced Pitching Clinic next month beginning on September 11th.
The Youth Skills Camp and Introduction to Pitching will be the first two camps held by the Hawks and will take place on Saturday, September 11th. Campers from grades one through six are invited to attend the Youth Skills Camp with check-in set to begin at 8:30 AM. A maximum of 50 campers will be allowed to participate. After the Youth Skills Camp, the softball team will hold an Introduction to Pitching Camp from 11:15 AM to 12:15 PM.
The cost to attend is $30 for one of the two sessions or $45 to enter both.
Quincy will also be hosting an Elite Camp and an Advanced Pitching Clinic for athletes in grades seven through junior college. The Advanced Pitching Camp will take place on Saturday, September 25th at 4:00 PM with check-in starting at 3:45 PM. QU softball will then host their Elite Camp on the following day, Sunday, September 26th at 10:00 AM. Check-in for the Elite Camp begins at 9:30 AM.
The cost to attend the Elite Camp is $100, the cost to participate in the Advanced Pitching Clinic is $50, and to attend both the Elite Camp and Advanced Pitching Clinic costs $130.
All four camps will be held at the Mart Heinen Softball Complex, weather permitting. In the event of weather, the camp will be moved inside to QU's indoor hitting facility near the field. Players are encouraged to bring cleats and indoor shoes.
All participants will undergo a COVID symptom screening prior to participation. Any changes concerning COVID-19 guidelines as directed by the CDC or local health authorities will be communicated to participants prior to camp.
