Quincy Public School District 172 Board met June 3.

The Board of Education of School District No. 172, Adams County, Illinois, met in special session in the Board of Education Office, Room 214, 1416 Maine Street, Quincy, Illinois, in said school district.
Roll Call
The meeting was called to order by President Ali. On the call of the roll, the following members were present and answered to their names: Members Ali, Arns, Nichols, Petty, and Whitfield; and the following member was absent: Member McNay. Whereupon the President declared a quorum was present.
Pledge of Allegiance
Latonya Brock led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Motion to Appoint Member
It was moved by Member Nichols and seconded by Member Arns to appoint Latonya Brock as a board member to fill the vacancy due to Mike Troup’s resignation. On the call of the roll, the following members voted Aye: Members Ali, Arns, Nichols, Petty, and Whitfield; and the following members voted Nay: None; and the following member was absent: Member McNay. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried.
Oath of Office
The Oath of Office, pursuant to statute, was administered to Member Latonya Brock by Attorney Penn. New Board member Brock signed the Oath in open session. The oath was duly filed with the Board Secretary (Doc. Reg. No. 3691).
Questions and Comments
President Ali opened the meeting to questions and comments to members of the Board, by members of the public and employees of the district, in compliance with state statutes. There were none.
Adjournment
It was moved by Member Whitfield and seconded by Member Petty that the special meeting adjourn. On the call of the roll, the following members voted Aye: Members Ali, Arns, Brock, Nichols, Petty, and Whitfield; and the following members voted Nay: None; and the following member was absent: Member McNay. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried and the special meeting was duly adjourned.
