Liberty Community Unit School District No. 2 Board of Education met March 17.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The regular meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. Members present: Barry, Mixer, Poulter, and Schmidt. Members absent: Clark, Krutmeier, and Voga. 4 present 3 absent. Also present: Kelle Bunch, Justin Edgar, Jody Obert (remote), Michael Smith, Adam Lee (remote), Andrea Sims, Laura Oakman, Rachel Whitlock, and John E. Baucom. 

Laura Oakman left at 6:55 p.m. 

Motion by Poulter, seconded by Schmidt that the board of education approve the Routine Consent Agenda. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Barry, Mixer, Poulter, and Schmidt. 4 ayes ( nays. M.C. 

Motion by Poulter, seconded by Mixer that the board of education approve the consent agenda, updating Option #E to $15,000.00. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Barry, Mixer, Poulter, and Schmidt. 4 ayes ( nays. M.C. 

Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Poulter that the board of education approve the recommendations from the Facilities/Physical Plant Committee to add more gravel to the ball diamond parking lot and add a heating/air conditioning unit for 3 rooms. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Barry, Mixer, Poulter, and Schmidt. 4 ayes O nays. M.C. 

Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Poulter that the board of education approve the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Liberty Community Unit School District #2 and the Liberty Teacher Association for August 1, 2021- August 1, 2024. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Barry, Mixer, Poulter, and Schmidt. 4 ayes O nays. M.C. 

Motion by Poulter, seconded by Mixer that the board of education approve the three-year lease with a $1 buy-out for 100 Chromebooks from SHI Capital for $9,726.34 annually, from July 1, 2021- July 1, 2024. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Barry, Mixer, Poulter, and Schmidt. 4 ayes ( nays. M.C. 

Motion by Mixer, seconded by Poulter that the board of education approve the closing of the Liberty School's Student Activity account (named After Prom) and transfer of $956.61 to a non-school related checking account, known as Liberty After Prom, established by the After Prom Committee. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Barry, Mixer, Poulter, and Schmidt. 4 ayes O nays. M.C. 

Andrea Sims, Racheal Whitlock, and John E. Baucom left the meeting at 7:53 p.m. 

Motion by Mixer, seconded by Schmidt that the board of go into closed session. Time: 7:54 p.m. Meeting in Closed Session on the following subjects: a) the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees, specific individuals who serve as independent contractors, or specific volunteers of the School District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee, a specific individual who serves, as an independent contractor, or a volunteer of the District.; b) collective negotiating matters between the School District and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees; c) the purchase or lease of real property for the use of the District; d) the setting of a price for sale or lease of property owned by the District; e) the sale or purchase of securities, investments, or investment contracts; f) emergency security procedures; g) student disciplinary cases; h) the placement of individual students in special education programs and other matters ing to individual students; i) pending, probable, or imminent litigation; j) evaluation of attorney; k) approval of certain closed session minutes for distribution to the public; or other matters appropriate for a closed meeting pursuant to the Open Meetings Act. Motion by Mixer, seconded by Poulter that the board of education go out of closed session. Time: 8:24 p.m. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Barry, Mixer, Poulter, and Schmidt. 4 ayes ( nays. M.C. 

Motion by Poulter, seconded by Mixer that the board of education approve the personnel report, as attached. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Barry, Mixer, Poulter, and Schmidt. 4 ayes ( nays. M.C.
