Dsc03987 c

Quincy Medical Group issued the following announcement on Apr. 16.

Quincy Medical Group (QMG) will expand its COVID-19 vaccine clinics in partnership with the Adams County Health Department (ACHD) as the ACHD’s mass vaccination clinic as the Oakley Lindsay Center (OLC) winds down.

Beginning April 20, QMG will expand COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics to include Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3–5 p.m. All individuals ages 16 and over qualify for the vaccine and can schedule an appointment via phone by calling (217) 222-6550, ext. 6802, or online at quincymedgroup.com/covidvaccine. Patients aged 16 and 17 years old must schedule via the phone extension to ensure they are scheduled for the Pfizer vaccine which is approved for patients ages 16 and older. The QMG vaccine clinics will take place at 1025 Maine St., 1st floor.

QMG has already administered nearly 1,100 COVID-19 vaccinations to date, partnering closely with local health departments in the Tri-States area to provide staffing and resources, including nurses from QMG, to help administer vaccines, provide COVID-19 testing, and other support. Additionally, QMG clinics in both Pittsfield and Keokuk have been distributing vaccines in partnership with those county health departments.

“Our community has navigated this unfamiliar and trying year, and we have leaned on each other to get through. Thanks to early efforts of local health departments, COVID-19 vaccines were made available to our local region,” QMG Chief Medical Officer Dr. Rick Noble said. “With this next phase, our nurses at QMG will shift focus from staffing at the mass vaccination site to provide vaccines here at our clinic to continue to do all we can to keep our residents safe and healthy.”

From the onset of the pandemic, QMG acted quickly to put measures in place to protect staff and patients from COVID-19. Those early efforts included the establishment of a COVID-19 Task Force, activation of the COVID-19 hotline, and facility adaptations to best care for and protect patients. QMG continued to be at the forefront of caring for patients with the start of Telehealth, involvement in community education, administering diagnostic and antibody testing, and providing COVID-19 treatment.

“QMG’s committed dedication to the ever-changing COVID-19 situation is a true testament to who we are,” stated Dr. Noble. “The one thing that has remained consistent is our caring, compassion, and support of our patients and community. We will continue to do all we can to care for our community’s patients.”
