The following minutes are tentative and will not become official minutes of the Board of Education until their scheduled approval at the next regular meeting.

Call to Order and Roll Call

The Southeastern Community Unit District #337 Board of Education met in regular session in the Board of Education Office (Room #126) in Augusta, Illinois. John Eilers, Board President, called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.

Roll Call verified that there was a quorum of the Board of Education with the following members present and absent as listed below:

Approval of Agenda Items

On a motion by Member Tippey and a second by Member O’Neal, the Board of Education approved the agenda items as amended.

Approval of Minutes

On a motion by Member Bruenger and a second by Member O’Neal, the Board of Education approved the minutes from the January 25, 2021 regular meeting and closed session as presented.

Special Recognition

Superintendent Fox presented the update on the Board Excellence site including: State FFA, Record Book, and February Sun of the Month.

Financial

Superintendent Fox presented the monthly financial snapshot showing we are 58% into the fiscal year. We have received 81% of our budgeted revenue and have spent 52% of budgeted expenditures.

On a motion by Member Winters and a second by Member O’Neal, the Board of Education approved the bills, financial statements, and activity funds.

Informational Items

Superintendent Fox gave a COVID-19 update.

Superintendent Fox reviewed the New School Laws 2021.

Superintendent Fox presented the Financial Profile Score of 3.55 out of 4.0.

Superintendent Fox reviewed the 10-year Health Life Safety Survey.

Superintendent Fox stated that the 2021-2022 Social Work Services will be one day per week.

Superintendent Fox explained the P-EBT (Pandemic-Electronic Benefit Transfer) system.

Administrative reports were given with Superintendent Fox reporting on Illinois updates, COVID-19 changes, IDPH guidelines, and Remote Learning.

On a motion by Member Bruenger and a second by Member O’Neal, the Board of Education moved into closed session at 7:11 p.m. for the purpose of the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body or against legal counsel for the public body to determine its validity; and for collective negotiating matters between the school board and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees; and for the discussion of minutes of meetings lawfully closed under the Open Meetings Act, whether for purposes of school board approval of the minutes or semi-annual review of the minutes as required by the Act.

The Board of Education returned to Open Session at 8:34 p.m.

Action Items

On a motion by Member Tippey and a second by Member Bruenger, the Board of Education approved the 2021 high school graduation date for Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Southeastern Junior/Senior High School at 2:00 p.m.

On a motion by Member Bruenger and a second by Member Tippey, the Board of Education approved the release of the following closed session minutes for public view: October 26, 2015, December 14, 2015, December 17, 2018, October 28, 2019, June 22, 2020, July 27, 2020, December 14, 2020.

On a motion by Member O’Neal and a second by Member Tippey, the Board of Education voted to adjourn the meeting at 8:35 p.m.
