CITY OF QUINCY: Resumption of Public Meetings and Opening of City Facilities

Announcement

City of Quincy issued the following announcement on Jan. 22.

As we return to Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois Plan, the City of Quincy is excited to welcome back residents to meetings of the Quincy City Council and our other committees. The following modifications will be implemented to ensure we are providing a safe environment for all:

  1. All City facilities will be open to the public during normal business hours beginning Monday, January 25th, 2021.

  2. Remote participation for Aldermen and committee members will continue until the completion of Phase 1 C in the Vaccination plan. For those who wish to attend in person, the City Council Chambers have been rearranged to allow for tiered seating for aldermen and committee members.

  3. With the maximum number of participants being capped at 50, we will have 15 open seats available to those who wish to attend. Those who wish to attend must register with the City Clerk by 12:00 PM the day of the meeting. They can do so by calling 217-228-4510 or emailing cityclerk@quincyil.gov. Priority will be given to those who have business before the council or committee. The City will make attempts to increase the amount of open seats by limiting attendance of department heads to only those who have business before the council.

  4. All attendees are requested to wear a mask while entering City Hall.

  5. Members of the public will need to give their name at the door to enter City Hall. We request that members of the public proceed to the marked seating in the Council Chambers rather than congregate in the hallways.
