Blessing Health System issued the following announcement on Dec. 10.
Luke Tappe, the brain and heart behind the successful Community Cancer Crush fundraiser for seven years has made the 2020 and final donation to the patients of the Blessing Cancer Center. Tappe gifted $15,000 to Ann Awerkamp Dickson, administrative director of the Blessing Foundation, for services needed by Blessing Cancer patients.
After serving as founder and CEO of the Community Cancer Crush, Tappe has turned over the event to another organization. Over the years, Tappe and the legion of passionate and compassionate people who helped him organize and stage the event in memory of his father, Ted Tappe, raised more than $480,000 for services needed by cancer patients seeking care in Quincy.
