Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.
Due to the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention warning against large Halloween-related gatherings and because they want to keep the community safe, the Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce has canceled its Fall into Fun event scheduled for Oct. 24.
Instead of an in-person event, the Chamber will encourage the community to shop locally. Participants who shop in the City of Quincy between Oct. 6 and Oct. 30 can enter to win several prizes.
Shoppers that spend at least $25 at a local business can submit a form and their receipt on quincychamber.org to win a prize. For every $25 spent, an entry can be made for the possibility of a prize. Prizes include a three-float package from Still Waters Float Center, an adult two-night getaway at Lake of the Ozarks, a one-night stay at Camden on the Lake Resort, a one-night stay with dinner at The Atrium on Third, and a pair of round-trip tickets to St. Louis or Chicago from Cape Air.
“We were looking forward to a fun community event to celebrate the fall, but we want to keep our community safe and adhere to the CDC guidelines. We’re excited for the opportunity to promote shopping locally, especially when our economy has been hit hard by the pandemic,” said Chamber Executive Director Latonya Brock.
Submissions along with receipts must be received by Friday, Oct. 30, at 5 p.m. Winners will be announced on Monday, Nov. 2. To make your submission, click here.
