Quincy Public Library issued the following announcement on July 30.
Out of an abundance of caution for their patrons and staff, Quincy Public Library will be temporarily suspending all in-person library sponsored events starting Monday, August 3. All other services will remain fully operational. Hours will remain 9 am to 8 pm, Monday-Thursday, and 9 am to 5 pm, Friday and Saturday.
“We have continued to evolve and adapt through the last couple of months,” said QPL Director Kathleen Helsabeck. “We’ve taken every precaution with our in person programming so far: requiring masks, maintaining social distancing, capacity limits, and limiting shared supplies. However, given the recent uptick in cases and the state issued warning, we just want to err on the side of caution.”
The library plans to continue offer events and programs virtually or through take and make kits. QPL’s Summer Reading Challenge will continue through the planned completion date, Friday, August 7. Visit quincylibrary.org for the updated calendar of digital programs, or call the library at 217-223-1309.
