When you’re experiencing this type of pain, everyday tasks can become very difficult. Dr. Joseph Newton and Dr. Theresa Newton are board-certified in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine. Their practice is focused on the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal pain.
When patients come to see them, Drs. Joseph & Theresa Newton focus on the source of their pain.
Dr. Joseph Newton explains, “For example, if a patient has back pain we look from their neck to their shoulders, back, hips, pelvis, knees, feet, etc. to see what might be contributing to the back pain.”
Beyond this evaluation, they assess non-structural factors such as diet, lifestyle, medicine use, and hormone balance, to see if they may play a role in the pain. If needed, they offer diagnostic ultrasound in the office to supplement other imaging technology like x-ray and MRI.
Once the source or sources of the pain are determined, the doctors work with you to form a treatment plan.
“We offer all options that may help them. This could include anything from targeted physical therapy, manipulative medicine, medication, steroid injection, viscosupplementation, platelets (PRP), stem cells, prolotherapy, nerve blocks, acupuncture, referral for epidural or surgery, or others,” Dr. Theresa Newton shares.
If you are suffering from musculoskeletal pain, you can schedule an initial consultation. No referral is needed. Initial consultations are ordinarily one hour and follow-up appointments are a half-hour to one hour.
