BLESSING HEALTH SYSTEM: Denman Services donates wheelchairs to Great River Honor Flight

Donate

Blessing Health System issued the following announcement on Aug. 22.

Long-time Great River Honor Flight supporter Denman Services, Inc., has made a donation to enhance the experience offered to area veterans and program volunteers. Denman is donating 20 wheelchairs to the program.

The Great River Honor Flight brings area veterans to Washington, D.C., to see the memorials that honor the branches of the armed forces. Many veterans require use of a wheelchair to enjoy the very busy day they experience in Washington.

Since the Great River Honor Flight program began, Denman has donated wheelchairs for each flight, delivering them just before the flight and picking them up after each flight. Denman eliminates those two steps with this donation.

“This is one less item the volunteers who run the Great River Honor Flight program will now have to think about before each flight. Wheelchairs for veterans’ use will be permanently available at the Honor Flight departure points in Quincy and Hannibal,” said Susan Long, Chief Operating Officer, Denman Services, Inc. “Denman Services is proud of its long association with this wonderful program and is honored to be able to enhance the experience of the veterans and the volunteers with the donation of these 20 wheelchairs.”

Denman Services, Inc., is a member of Blessing Health System. The company operates retail durable medical equipment and pharmacy outlets for the public that include Adaptive Mobility Systems; Denman Medical Equipment and Supply; Hannibal Medical Supplies, LLC; Illini Health Services, LLC; and Macomb Medical Equipment & Supply. Denman also markets biomedical equipment maintenance and repair and laundry services to healthcare providers.
