Payson Community Unit School District 1 Board met April 29. 

Here is the minutes as provided by the board:

CALL TO ORDER Shannon Triplett, president, called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

ROLL CALL Brian Ippensen, vice president, called roll with the following members present: Chanse Barker, Jeff Hull, Brian Ippensen, Lisa Schwartz and Shannon Triplett. Krista Bangert and Leroy Brinkman were absent.

Also present were Donna Veile and Nancy Cromie.

VISITORS David Penn

MINUTES Ippensen made a motion to approve the April 16, 2019 minutes. Barker seconded the motion. AYE: Barker, Hull, Ippensen, Schwartz and Triplett NAY: None

2019 ELECTION CANVASS Ippensen made a motion to approve the resolution acknowledging receipt of canvass reports and certificate of election. Schwartz seconded the motion. AYE: Barker, Hull, Ippensen, Schwartz and Triplett NAY: None

MOVE TO CLOSED SESSION Ippensen made a motion to enter into closed session to consider the following subjects: a) the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the School District; b) collective negotiating matters between the School District and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees; c) the purchase or lease of real property for the use of the District; d) the setting of a price for sale or lease of property owned by the District; e) the sale or purchase of investments; f) emergency security procedures; g) student disciplinary cases; h) the placement of individual students in special education programs and other matters relating to individual students; i) pending, probable or imminent litigation; j) attorney/client privilege; k) approval of Closed Session Minutes for distribution to the public; or other matters appropriate for a closed meeting pursuant to the Open Meetings Act. Triplett seconded the motion. AYE: Hull, Ippensen, Schwartz, Barker and Triplett NAY: None

Entered into closed session at 7:02 p.m.

RETURN TO OPEN SESSION Barker made a motion to return to open session. Schwartz seconded the motion. AYE: Ippensen, Schwartz, Barker, Hull and Triplett NAY: None

Returned to open session at 7:04 p.m.

PERSONNEL ADDENDUM Barker made a motion to approve the personnel addendum. Hull seconded the motion. AYE: Schwartz, Barker, Hull, Ippensen and Triplett NAY: None

ADJOURNMENT Ippensen made a motion to adjourn. Barker seconded the motion. AYE: Barker, Hull, Ippensen, Schwartz and Triplett NAY: None

ROLL CALL Nancy Cromie, district secretary, called roll with the following members present: Krista Bangert (by phone), Chanse Barker, Jeff Hull and Lisa Schwartz.

Also present were Donna Veile and Nancy Cromie.

OATH The board member oath was recited by those present.

PRESIDENT PRO TEM Hull made a motion to elect Lisa Schwartz as President Pro Tem. Bangert seconded the motion. AYE: Bangert, Barker, Hull and Schwartz NAY: None

SECRETARY PRO TEM Barker made a motion to elect Nancy Cromie as Secretary Pro Tem. Hull seconded the motion. AYE: Barker, Hull, Schwartz and Bangert NAY: None

MEETING DATES Hull made a motion to reaffirm the remaining two meetings of the school year. Barker seconded the motion. AYE: Hull, Schwartz, Bangert and Barker NAY: None
