Quincy University issued the following announcement on June 20.
As part of a two-year commitment, Quincy University received a second grant of $50,000 from Ameren Illinois from the Ameren Illinois Charitable Giving Program. Funds from the grant were used to support the schools Financial Recovery Campaign. The grant was made available through the Ameren Cares program, which connects Ameren Illinois with the communities it serves through charitable giving and volunteering.
“Quincy University is a staple in our community as they continue to offer life-changing experiences for their students so they can grow into the leaders of tomorrow,” said Chad Cloninger, director of division operations for Ameren Illinois. “We are proud to continue our support of Quincy University as they continue to enrich the lives of their students.”
This is the fifth grant gifted to Quincy University by Ameren Illinois in six years. In 2013, Ameren Illinois awarded Quincy University with a $10,000 grant to support the renovation of the Legends Stadium soccer facilities at North Campus. In 2015, Ameren Illinois awarded Quincy University with a $15,000 grant to support various renovation efforts and technology upgrades for a classroom on QU’s Main Campus. Ameren Illinois also funded renovations to the Dr. John Natalini classroom on Quincy University’s North Campus in 2017.
“We are honored to receive this generous grant from Ameren,” said Phil Conover, Quincy University president. “Ameren’s continued support of Quincy University will help ensure that we can continue our mission of preparing men and women for leadership for years to come.”
Each year, the Ameren Illinois Charitable Giving Program awards millions of dollars to support worthwhile initiatives in the following categories: Arts & Culture, Civic & Community, Environment, Health & Human Services, and Youth and Education. Funds for the program are generated exclusively by corporate earnings and not as a supplemental charge to Ameren customers.
