City of Quincy City Council met February 25

City of Quincy City Council met Feb. 25.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

The regular meeting of the City Council was held this day at 7:00 p.m. with Mayor Kyle A. Moore presiding.

The following members were present:

Ald. Entrup, Bergman, Bauer, Ernst, Havermale, Farha, Sassen, Rein, Lepper, VanCamp, Reis, Heinecke, Holtschlag. 13.

Absent: Ald. Goehl. 1.

Ald. Entrup moved Ald. Goehl be excused from this meeting. Motion carried.

The minutes of the regular meeting of the City Council held February 19, 2019, were approved on a motion of Ald. Havermale. Motion carried.

Legal Counsel: Corporation Counsel Lonnie Dunn.

The City Clerk presented and read the following:

PETITION

By the following organizations requesting permission to conduct a raffle and have the bond requirement waived: Quincy Elks Lodge #100 from now to June 7th; Muddy River Riders from now until April 27th. The City Clerk recommends approval of the permits.

Ald. Sassen moved the prayer of the petition be granted. Motion carried.

ORDINANCE

Adoption of an ordinance entitled: An Ordinance Amending The 2018-2019 Fiscal Year Budget. (Regional Training Facility Fund #531: Decrease Revenues $50,000.

Ald. Havermale moved the adoption of the ordinance, seconded by Ald. VanCamp, and on a roll call the following vote resulted: Yeas: Ald. Havermale, Sassen, Lepper, VanCamp, Reis, Heinecke, Holtschlag, Entrup, Bergman, Bauer. 10. Nays: Ald. Farha, Rein, Ernst. 3. Absent: Ald. Goehl. 1. The Mayor cast a vote of yea.

The Chair, Mayor Kyle A. Moore, declared the motion carried and the ordinance adopted.

Ald. Farha, seconded by Ald. Sassen, moved the reports be received and vouchers be issued for the various amounts and on the roll call each of the 13 Aldermen voted yea, with 1 absent. Motion carried.

MOTIONS

Ald. Bauer moved to allow a dumpster on city right-of-way at 910 North 8th starting 2/26/19 for two weeks. Motion carried.

Ald. Holtschlag referred to the Traffic Commission the possibility of “15 Minute” parking at 208 S. 10th. Motion carried.

Ald. Holtschlag referred to the Engineering Dept. the alley between Hampshire and Vermont, 5th and 6th, to shut down part of the alley at the discretion of the contractor. Motion carried.

The City Council adjourned at 7:08 p.m. on a motion of Ald. Havermale. Motion carried.
