Quincy Medical Group issued the following announcement on May 17.
Construction on the Quincy Medical Group Cancer Institute is underway at the former Bergner’s space at the Quincy Mall. On June 2, National Cancer Survivors Day, QMG will halt construction and open the doors to allow the community to come in and write inspirational messages on the unfinished walls. The event titled, If These Walls Could Talk, is in partnership with the QMG Healthcare Foundation and will honor all those impacted by cancer.
Who: Patients, survivors, family members, physicians, and the community at large
What: Attendees will write inspirational messages of hope, healing, and encouragement on the unfinished walls. Photographs of the messages will be captured and featured throughout the Cancer Institute and also in a commemorative booklet that will be given to new patients.
Where: Quincy Medical Group Cancer Institute, 3347 Broadway (the former Bergner’s space), Quincy, IL
When: Sunday, June 2 (National Cancer Survivors Day) from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
A brief presentation will take place at 3:00 p.m.
