Blessing Health System issued the following announcement on May 1.
Maureen Kahn, CEO of Blessing Hospital, is issuing the following statement on the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board’s decision on the Certification of Need (CON) application from Quincy Medical Group.
"Tonight, the Health Facilities Services Review Board made the decision to approve QMG’s CON request for a new surgical center to be located at the Quincy Mall by a vote of 5-2, with five affirmative votes being required for approval.
While the Health Facilities Services Review Board’s decision was not the hoped-for outcome, Blessing Hospital remains committed to providing area residents with the best care possible and to serve the Quincy community with the commitment to excellence our patients have come to expect."
