Quincy University issued the following announcement on April 22.
Quincy University junior Abby Moore, was recently named an Illinois News Broadcasters Association (INBA) scholarship recipient at the Spring 2019 INBA Convention on Saturday, April 13. Moore competed against students from across the state to become one of only four recipients of the scholarship. Students are selected based on their academic merits, journalistic work and an interview conducted by industry professionals. The winners of the competition receive a $1,800 journalism scholarship.
Quincy University’s QUTV won second place in Outstanding Newscast in the Student Illinois News Broadcasts Associations contest. QUTV competed against schools of all sizes from around the state.
Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker delivered the keynote speech at the awards banquet. Students attending the convention attended a storytelling workshop by KARE-TV’s Boyd Huppert.
