City of Quincy City Council will meet on March 4.

Petitions
Ward 7
The petition from By On The Rail, 129 S. 4th, requesting permission to waive Section 111.096 (a) (Consumption and Possession of Alcoholic Liquor on Public Streets, Alleys, and Sidewalks and Lots), Section 111.096 (d) (Permitting open liquor to leave licensed premises) and Section 111.067(a) (Selling outside of Licensed Premises) on May 25th, June 17th and August 20th from 7:00 p.m. to midnight with proper licenses being obtained. They are also requesting to block the north alley and the north grassy lot. There will be a fenced in area with only one way in and out. Quincy Police Department approves with certain recommendations, was tabled for two weeks by Ald. Heinecke. The petitioner has changed the dates to June 1st and July 13th. The police department approves the date changes, but the remaining portion of the original recommendation remains the same.
By the Quincy Humane Society requesting permission to conduct a raffle and have the bond requirement waived from now through 3/30/19. The City Clerk recommends approval of the permit.
Wards 3.4
By Quincy Senior High School requesting permission to hold their “Dream Big in Color” 5K run on April 27th starting at 8:30 a.m. beginning at QHS, west on Maine to 14th, south to Jersey, east to 22nd, south to Aldo east to 23rd and north to Maine looping back to QHS. Final end time, including clean up, will be noon with streets being available by 10:30 a.m. At six designated spots throughout the route, biodegradable powder will be tossed on individuals as they run past.

By the Quincy Breakfast Optimist Club requesting permission to close 18th St. from Kochs Lane to Seminary Rd. from 8:00 a.m. June 14th to 7:00 p.m. on June 15th for the Soap Box Derby. They request barricades and “Road Closed to Through Traffic” signs at 18th and Koch’s Lane, 18th Seminary Rd, the intersection of Hollister Whitney Blvd and Quintron Way and by the south entrance to Tom Awerkamp Bridge. Barricades needed at Hollister Whitney Blvd and Quintron Way and the intersection of Quintron Way and Schneidman St. “No Parking” signs are needed along the east side of Schneidman St. from Hollister Whitney Blvd. to Quintron Way.
