Analysis: Central administrators rank 792nd in state for average pay

Administrators in Central Community Unit School District 3 earn an average of $75,069 per year, ranking 792nd out of 864 districts in the state, according to a Quincy Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2018 average is 2.6% lower than in 2014 and 1.6% higher than in 2009. District administrators make 30% less than the state average of $107,279.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Adams County school district enrolled 874 students in 2017-18. There is an average of 146 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 181 to 1.
