Blessing Health System issued the following announcement on Feb. 1.
Visiting restrictions are in effect at Blessing Hospital because the Quincy area is experiencing a flu outbreak.
Until further notice, anyone under the age of 16 should not come to Blessing Hospital unless they need medical care to reduce their exposure to the flu.
That means:
Children should not visit hospitalized patients
Children should not accompany an adult to the adult’s medical appointment at the hospital
Also, anyone older than 16 and experiencing flu-like symptoms should not come to the hospital except for medical care to reduce the risk of exposing others to the flu.
Blessing Hospital thanks you for your understanding and cooperation during this flu outbreak.
