Meeting Convened

MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF BOARD OF EDUCATION, SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 172 ADAMS COUNTY, ILLINOIS HELD ON AUGUST 3, 2018

The Board of Education of School District No. 172, Adams County, Illinois, met in special session on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. in the Board of Education Office, Room 214, located at 1416 Maine Street, Quincy, Illinois, in said school district.

Roll Call

The meeting was called to order by President Ali, who directed the secretary to call the roll. On the call of the roll, the following members were present and answered to their names: Members Ali, Arns, Bailey, Nichols, Troup, and Whitfield; and the following member was absent: Member McNay. Whereupon the President declared a quorum was present.

Pledge of Allegiance

President Ali led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Questions and Comments

President Ali opened the meeting to questions and comments to members of the Board, by members of the public and employees of the district, in compliance with state statutes. There were none.

Sale of School Property – Washington School

It was moved by Member Bailey and seconded by Member Troup to approve the Resolution Providing for the Sale of School Real Property and Buildings commonly known as Washington Elementary School, 1400 N. 8th Street, Quincy, Illinois (Doc. Reg. No. 3023). On the call of the roll, the following members voted Aye: Members Ali, Arns, Bailey, Nichols, Troup, and Whitfield; and the following member voted Nay: None, and the following member was absent: Member McNay. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried.

Sale of School Property – Dewey School

It was moved by Member Ali and seconded by Member Nichols to approve the Resolution Providing for the Sale of School Real Property and Buildings commonly known as Dewey Elementary School, 2040 Cherry Street, Quincy, Illinois (Doc. Reg. No. 3024). On the call of the roll, the following members voted Aye: Members Ali, Arns, Bailey, Nichols, Troup, and Whitfield; and the following member voted Nay: None, and the following member was absent: Member McNay. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried.

Sale of School Property – Vacant Lot South of Dewey School

It was moved by Member Whitfield and seconded by Member Troup to approve the Resolution Providing for the Sale of School Real Property commonly known as Vacant Lot South of Dewey Elementary School, 2040 Cherry Street, Quincy, Illinois (Doc. Reg. No. 3025). On the call of the roll, the following members voted Aye: Members Ali, Arns, Bailey, Nichols, Troup, and Whitfield; and the following member was absent: Member McNay. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried.

Sale of School Personal Property

It was moved by Member Nichols and seconded by Member Bailey to approve the Resolution Authorizing the Sale of Personal Property (Doc. Reg. No. 3026). On the call of the roll, the following members voted Aye: Members Ali, Arns, Bailey, Nichols, Troup, and Whitfield; and the following member was absent: Member McNay. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried.

Adjourn

At 8:20 a.m., it was moved by Member Ali and seconded by Member Nichols that the special meeting adjourn. On the call of the roll, the following members voted Aye: Members Ali, Arns, Bailey, Nichols, Troup, and Whitfield; and the following members voted Nay: None; and the following member was absent: Member McNay. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried and the special meeting was duly adjourned.
