Quincy Medical Group issued the following announcement on Sept. 19.
Children face big emotions, and Quincy Medical Group is here to help them navigate through those feelings. The Sunshine Circles Group is open to all children ages 4 – 7 and will focus on positive interactions with others.
Jennifer Guilfoyle, LCPC, one of the leaders of the group, said, “One of the purposes of the Sunshine Circles Group is to assist children with the regulation of emotions. Play is an important component of this, as children can learn to gain control of their emotional and physical states through play.”
Group topics include:
Self-regulations/self-control
Verbal and nonverbal communication
Better regulation of volume
Peer Interactions
Cooperation
Coping with and expressing difficult emotions
Frustration tolerance
Personal space
Social and academic activities
This is a 9-week group and will take place on Wednesdays from 4 to 4:45 p.m.
The next group is Wednesday, Oct. 3, through Nov. 28 (no session on Oct. 31).
