Graduates earn 506 degrees, certificates from John Wood Community College

About 30.6 percent of the 506 degrees and certificates handed out by the John Wood Community College in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Quincy conferred 118 certificates and 37 associate's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in Biological and Physical Sciences. Data shows the school gave out 105 associate's degrees in Biological and Physical Sciences, followed by 92 associate's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies and 71 certificates in Nursing Assistant/Aide and Patient Care Assistant/Aide.

The college enrolled 1,968 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
