Report: Quincy spent $10,016 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Quincy Public School District 172 is up 10 percent from five years ago, according to a Quincy Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Adams County school district spent $9,124 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $10,016 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 6473 to 6757.

Quincy's spending in 2016-17 was 23 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
