Report: Payson School District spent $8,473 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Payson Community Unit School District 1 was up 1.7 percent from five years ago, according to the Quincy Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Adams County school district spent $8,328 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $8,473 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 553 to 529 students over the same period.

Payson's spending in 2019-20 was 41.5 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
