Quincy University issued the following announcement on Sept. 21
The Quincy University women's golf team competed in their first event of the fall on Monday and Tuesday afternoon (Sept. 20 & 21). Freshman Karlie Schnepp earned a tie for seventh in her first collegiate start during the event.
Christian Brothers University took home the lowest team score for the two-day event after compiling a team stroke total of 629 over two rounds. Quincy took 13th out of 17 teams with a final stroke count of 687.
McKendree's Imogen Rafferty shot the lowest individual two-round score and took the leader board with a first round 72 followed by a final round 73 for a total stroke count of 145.
Quincy's Karlie Schnepp hung tough near the top of the leaderboard in her first collegiate action. The Rochester, Illinois native shot a 78 on day one and an 80 on day two for a total score of 158. This was good enough for a tie for seventh place out of over 100 athletes.
The women's golf team will move ahead to the Culver-Stockton Wildcat Classic that will be held at Spring Lake Country Club this coming Sunday and Monday (Sept. 26 & 27).
