Report: Payson spent $7,825 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Payson Community Unit School District 1 is down 11.3 percent from five years ago, according to a Quincy Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Adams County school district spent $8,826 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $7,825 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 531 to 559.

Payson's spending in 2017-18 was 41.3 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
