City of Quincy City Council will meet January 7

City of Quincy City Council will meet on Monday, Jan. 7.

Here is the agenda provided by the council:

Ward 2 By Hafed Musleh, Chestnut Express Market LLC, requesting consideration for a special permit to allow the sale of alcoholic beverages on property at 1001 N. 5th presently zoned C1B

Ward 3 By Eric Booth, EJB Real Estate LLC, requesting consideration for a zoning change from C3 (Planned Commercial) to C2 (Commercial) to develop the property at 601 N. 36 in commercial and retail use without further approval of plans by the Plan Commission and City Council.

Ward 7 A revocable permit application for encroachment of city right-of-way from Beth Cornwell, president of Right to Life of Adams County requesting permission to hang a banner across 5th & Maine Street in conjunction with National Right to Life Week from January 14th to January 21st. The Utilities and Engineering Director presents this request subject to the condition that the City is not responsible for any weather related damage to the banner.

By South Side Boat Club requesting permission to conduct a raffle and have bond requirement waived from 2/1/19 through 1/20/2020. The City Clerk recommends approval of the permit.

MONTHLY REPORTS PUBLIC FORUM RESOLUTION

Aeronautics Committee and the Airport Director requesting permission to authorize the lease of hangar space to David Mahon in the amount of $135.98 monthly.

ORDINANCES

Adoption of an ordinance:

An Ordinance Amending Chapter 53 (Water And Sewer Extensions) Of The Municipal Code Of The City Of Quincy (2015). (Annexation petition requirement.)

Ward 4 Second presentation of an ordinance:

An Ordinance Amending Ordinance No. 18-18 Granting A Special Permit For A Planned Development At 520 S. 21st.
