Five Adams County residents under 20 years of age tested positive for COVID-19 on October 3, according to numbers being reported by the Illinois Department of Public Health.

In total, there have been 198 positive cases reported in Adams County among residents under 20, accounting for 15.9 percent of all cases in the county. Through October 3, Adams County has reported a total of 1,247 confirmed cases of the coronavirus, 10 of which have ended with the victim’s death.

Illinois gathers all of their COVID-19 data from across the state electronically. The reported cases and deaths will fluctuate as additional info is gathered. Chicago was home to one of the first known cases of COVID-19 in the US, as well as it’s transmission.
