Analysts have scrutinized Governor Pritzker's FY25 budget proposal to the Illinois General Assembly, revealing over $2 billion in new State spending supported by $1 billion in new taxes. The funds are set to bolster existing State programs, including the provision of nearly-free health care for undocumented immigrant adults and seniors, costing taxpayers close to $1 billion annually.

House Republicans have taken a stand against human trafficking, introducing a bill package aimed at safeguarding individuals who have become victims of this heinous crime within the state. The efforts seek to combat the rise in human trafficking fueled by the open border crisis.

On the emissions front, Republican lawmakers, along with concerned Illinois residents, are rallying to prevent the imposition of strict California Emission Standards in the state. The proposed standards, endorsed by radical Illinois Democrats, would mandate the phasing out of gasoline-powered vehicles in favor of electric ones. While a specific bill promoting these standards was scheduled for debate in the House Energy and Environment Committee, it was not called. However, the bill is expected to resurface for discussion on March 12, prompting a call for public engagement to oppose the initiative.

In commemoration of International Women's Day, individuals are urged to reflect on the remarkable achievements and contributions of women in cultural, economic, and political spheres. The occasion serves as a tribute to the pioneering women who have championed gender equality both in the United States and across the globe.
